It is a lie, Rema not dead ― Manager

Nigerian young musician, Rema became the focus of the social media Saturday over his purported death.

The artiste, Divine Ikubor was reported dead in his Wikipedia biography.

The rumour of his death has been laid to rest when a national dailies, Vanguard contacted his manager, Sean via Whatsapp.

According to his manager’s response reported by the online news platform,

“Rema is hale and hearty!”

“Death is not something one can hide! Some hackers got access to his official account and spread the rumour. He is hale and healthy, he is fine.

“We don’t want to blow this out of proportion” he said

The alteration of Wikipedia profile to read false information of a celebrity is becoming a trend.

In October 2019, the profile of the Nigerian first lady, Aisha Buhari was altered to read President Muhammadu Buhari defeated former president Goodluck Jonathan in rigged election.

The Edo born artiste “Rema” signed a record deal with Jonzing World (Mavins subsidiary) in 2019.

He came into limelight when his track “Iron Man” featured on Barack Obama’s 2019 summer playlist.

He later went on to win the Next Rated award, a controversial development.

He was also nominated for the Viewer’s Choice at the 13th Headies held last year (2019) October.
