2023: Fayose rejects Atiku, says ‘it must be a Southern Presidency or nothing’

Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti state and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The controversial politician in a tweet on Wednesday said it is the turn of the South to govern the nation as the current president is from the North.

According to Fayose, “The current President of Nigeria is a 2-term Northern Presidency, thus implying that it MUST be a Southern Presidency in 2023 or NOTHING. Awa ‘South’ lo kan’. Nigerians should await details soon”.

Meanwhile, Fayose had earlier congratulated Atiku on his emergence as the PDP 2023 presidential election flagbearer.

“I congratulate former VP Atiku Abubakar over his emergence as the PDP presidential candidate. I also commend Governor Nyesom Wike for remaining consistent in action and character,” he tweeted.
