‘5 Loaves Of Bread For 200 People’, Lagos Residents Condemns Govt’s Lockdown Palliative

“Lagos State government didn’t tell us that they want to be the second Jesus that fed 5,000 persons in the Bible”, a Lagos resident, Anekwe Mathew related the Lagos State palliative measure to the bible story “miracle of the five loaves and two fishes” in the Gospel of John.

The government of Lagos State led by Babajide Sanwo-Olu after the 14 days lockdown directive by the Federal Government promised palliative measures for the poor and aged in Lagos State.

“Lagos State government, sent their representative to our location 2days ago at Igando Road, Lanre bus stop before Alimosho general hospital.”

Mathew recalled the government’s announcement enjoined “all women should come out by 4pm to collect food items brought by the state government.

“On getting to the venue, each street were given 4 loaves of bread, 1 paint of garri, 3 De Rica of beans for the persons living at Yinka Alagbada street.”

Residents of Egbe-Idinmu local government also made the same complain.

In a viral video recorded by residents of Olayinka Olugoke street, the shared rice and beans which were not up to two De Rica, along with a loaf of bread was expected to be shared by everybody in the street.
