Coronavirus: RCCG Issues Memo, Alters Services In Ogun, Lagos

The Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG), has issued a memo to all its parishes in Lagos and Ogun States for the need of readjustment in service coordination.

The Pentecostal megachurch and denomination was responding to the advent of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria.

Lagos State government has closed schools and issued statement banning churches and mosques services.

In the memo obtained by Lanre News, signed by Pastor J.F. Odesola, the assistant general overseer (admin & personnel), the church parishes that have about 50 members or less were permitted to hold their services.

“Parishes that have an average of 50 members are directed to make use of their House Fellowship Centres to run simultaneous services with the main Church.

“Parishes that have the facility to run more than one service can also do so, under the strict directive that Worshippers won’t exceed 50 people per service.”

The church members were strongly advised to join the church’s live streaming service to curb gatherings.
