Students of the Department of Mass Communication, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, has elected new representative for the 2019/2020 academic session, as the department is set to move from Wisdom Ogonnna Taiwo to Kehinde Akinbode.
The students who went to the polls on Friday,elected Kehinde Akinbode (Kennydeal) as President, Oluwatofunmi Asadeji (Carmar)as PRO, Eschie Fidelis (Menzo) as treasurer among others.
Kennydeal pull 301 votes, had a marginal vote of 52 over Femi Owoeye (MVP), his opponent.
Similarly, Oluwatofunmi Asadeji had 267 votes over Mujeeb Olakunle (Portable)’s 216 while Eschie Fidelis(Menzo) had 303 votes over Isa Awesu’s 240; Busolami was elected Vice President 2 with 200 votes over Easyboy who had 168 votes
Other elected executives included, Pappylo as Financial Secretary, with 316 votes, Loyal xtar as General Secretary with 312 votes, Grace as deputy Librarian with 220 votes, Zimbabwe as Welfare Director with 273 votes, Shuga as social director with 253 votes and Olabee as Sport Director with 290 votes.
Other executives who emerged unopposed included La Boss who elected Vice President 1 with 394 votes; Damson as Assistant General Secretary with 425 votes and Gold as Librarian with 469 votes.
However, Chairman of the AMACOS Electoral Committee Felix Idowu, declared them winners of the election after over seven hours of the tense filled exercise where 1,588 ballot papers were issued with only 570 vote cast.
The election was supervised by the staff adviser, Lekan Togunwa,the HOD, Kolawole Amos,Dr Sola Adeosun, security officials amongst others.
