An internet fraudster, Noble Dainge Tamunoateli has been sentenced to 19 years imprisonment for fraudulent impersonation, possession of fraudulent documents and money laundering to the tune of N14,751,558.00 (Fourteen Million, Seven Hundred and Fifty-One Thousand, Five Hundred and Fifty-Eight Naira).
He was sentenced by Justice Toyin Bolaji Adegoke of the Federal High Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Tamunoateli was arraigned on July 19, 2021 on 11-count charges preferred against him by the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
He pleaded “not guilty” to the charges and was granted bail.
However, the court revoked the bail when investigations showed that the defendant presented forged medical reports before the court through his counsel, Ewa Okpo Edmund, aka Street Lawyer.
