Another development has been unveiled from the Nigerian Police Force after the outcry of citizens on the professional misconduct of the Federal Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS).
The Lagos Police has arrested two operatives of the squad and the owner of the vehicle they use for operations. According to report, the operatives were arrested for extortion and intimidation of innocent citizens among other offences.
The operational vehicle of the men has also been impounded and the disciplinary procedure has already commenced against the defaulters.
Recall that we earlier reported the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has ordered that personnel of Federal Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) and other tactical squads cease from routine patrols.
“The IGP reaffirms his commitment to bequeathing to Nigerians, a reformed Police Force that is accountable, responsible and ever ready to defend and uphold the rights of the citizens while discharging its duties of keeping the people safe and secure” the Force Public Relation Officer, Frank Mba, DCP had said.
“He enjoins the citizens not to allow the misconduct by a few personnel of the Force to negatively impact on their belief, confidence and trust in the Police.”
