The Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has been rumoured by some Biafra agitators to have been dead and long buried. According to their claim, the president was replaced by a look-alike from Sudan named “Jubril”; thus an impostor.
Thou there is no concrete evidence to validate this, this group has never desisted from bringing it up again when a situation warrants.

Lanre News however in an interview with Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide asked for his take on the matter.
Mazi Isiguzoro said; “President Muhammadu Buhari is from Daura, Kastina State. He obviously stays in Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
“Nigeria is too sophisticated for a lesser country like Sudan to impersonate a President on over 300 million Nigerians.”
The Igbo Youths Leader who claimed he had met President Buhari in 2003 said when he met him (Buhari) in 2019, the President was still able to remember him and called him by his name.

“I am certain that President Muhammadu Buhari I met in 2003 in the Company of late Chuba Okadigbo, who was his running mate in ANPP, could still remember me and call me by name at the Palace of Hrm Eze Isaac Ikonne in Aba Abia State, in 2019 during APC campaign shows that he is still President Muhammadu Buhari I know in 2003.”
Meanwhile, an AFP fact check had revealed the rumour of the president being cloned was chiefly promoted by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a separatist group clamouring for cessation from the nation.
“The owner of the Facebook page responsible for the post is “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu”, the British-Nigerian leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who are demanding independence from Nigeria,” the AFP report stated.
