Azealia Banks is a star-award American rapper. She has featured in several hit songs and has also released her albums, one of which she made her debut in 2011 after she released the hit single “212”.

Azealia Banks was born in Manhattan, New York City on the 31st of May, 1991.
She was the last born among siblings of three and she alongside her older siblings was raised by their single mother.
Sadly, her father died of pancreatic cancer when she was just two years of age.
Based on an interview with Banks, she said that when she was younger, her mother always abused them physically and verbally, and at one time, she cleared the fridge just so they wouldn’t have anything to eat. She had to leave her mother’s house for her eldest sister’s house at the age of fourteen.
She gradually found an interest in music. Because of her failure in several auditions such as Law and Order, NBS, and Nickelodeon, which she went for, she began to rap.
Not finishing high school, she followed her passion as a recording artist.

In the same year, she took a contract with the record label “XL Recordings” where she worked with the producer, Richard Russell. She however left the record label not long after, that same year, due to some form of disagreement. It was after she left the record label that she officially continued under the name Azealia Banks.
On and on she went until she finally released her hit single “212” on the 6th of December. It was said to have been her best single.
